Who am I?
Dr Aidan W. D. Robinson graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in 2001 and has spent more than 25 years developing his clinical expertise across private practice, international motorsport, elite athletics, disability sport and postgraduate chiropractic education.
His professional career has been defined by a commitment to clinical excellence, critical thinking and the continued development of chiropractic as both a science and a healing art.
Following four years as an associate chiropractor, Aidan established ITRM Chiropractic Clinic in 2005. His experience encompasses the management of larger clinical practices employing up to seven associates, through to the highly individualised, patient-centred approach he delivers today.
In 2003, he achieved his Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) qualification and subsequently served as a PRTS tutor and trainer between 2003 and 2015.
Throughout his career, Aidan has maintained a particular interest in complex biomechanical dysfunction, high-velocity deceleration injuries and the assessment and management of patients presenting with challenging neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
His clinical experience includes working with individuals with hemiplegia, paraplegia and quadriplegia, alongside patients with single and multiple upper- and lower-limb amputations.
International Sporting and Clinical Experience
In 2012, Aidan was invited to represent the chiropractic profession at the London Paralympic Games, becoming the first chiropractor to work within the Polyclinic at a Paralympic Games.
This landmark appointment reflected his experience working with athletes presenting with complex physical disabilities and the unique biomechanical demands associated with elite disability sport.
His extensive involvement in international motorsport has included providing chiropractic care and clinical support within:
• MotoGP
• World Superbike Championship
• British Superbike Championship
• Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix
• North West 200
• Ulster Grand Prix
• Oliver’s Mount Road Racing
• Lamborghini motorsport programmes
• Bathams Racing, Cowton Racing and VRS Racing
In 2016, he served as a lead medical representative within Lamborghini motorsport.
His experience also extends into international strength athletics, where he was instrumental in establishing medical protocols and providing clinical support for Britain’s Strongest Disabled Man and World’s Strongest Disabled Man competitions.
Working within these demanding environments has helped shape his understanding of human movement, neurological adaptation, injury mechanisms and the importance of precise, effective clinical assessment.
Chiropractic Education and Professional Development
Alongside his clinical work, Aidan has dedicated a significant proportion of his career to teaching and mentoring chiropractors.
His educational philosophy has been strongly influenced by the work of Dr Leonard J. Faye, particularly the principles of motion palpation, joint play, segmental dysfunction and the identification of primary and secondary biomechanical restrictions.
Building upon these foundations, Aidan has developed a practical, systematic approach to chiropractic assessment and adjusting that integrates contemporary anatomical and physiological understanding with the essential hands-on skills of the profession.
He has delivered one-, two- and three-day postgraduate seminars throughout the United Kingdom, alongside lectures addressing the unique clinical considerations involved in caring for amputees and athletes with disabilities.
Enchiridion Chiropractic Training
Founded in 2022, Enchiridion Chiropractic Training (ECT) represents the culmination of Aidan’s clinical experience, educational philosophy and commitment to the future of chiropractic.
ECT was established with a clear purpose:
To encourage chiropractors to think critically, assess comprehensively and develop the confidence, competence and practical skills necessary to become exceptional primary contact practitioners.
Rather than promoting a rigid system or predetermined treatment protocol, ECT encourages practitioners to develop their own clinical reasoning through a deeper understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and the neurological mechanisms underpinning human movement.
Central to this approach is the principle of test, treat and retest, ensuring that clinical decisions are informed by meaningful assessment and reproducible findings.
Aidan’s teaching places particular emphasis on developing palpatory sensitivity, identifying the primary driver of biomechanical dysfunction and understanding how localised restrictions may influence movement throughout the body.
His objective is not simply to teach chiropractors new techniques, but to help them understand why, when and how those techniques should be applied.
