Direction of Drive: Why It Matters
Not all adjustments are created equal.
Key Concept:
*Direction of Drive- (DoD) must match the direction of the joint fixation.
If the joint is fixated in:
*P to A rotation → You adjust P to A.
*Lateral flexion restriction → You adjust in that vector.
Errors to avoid:
* Mistaking tenderness for primary dysfunction.
* Guessing without rechecking.
* Adjusting hypermobile areas.
Motion palpation is your GPS.
* It tells you where you are.
* Where you need to go.
* How to know when you’ve arrived.
Yours in excellent chiropractic care
